Are you thinking about traveling to the beautiful Upper Peninsula this summer? Do you live out of state and you wonder what wonders await you in Michigan?? Well, this Michigander would love to tell you about the first time I went to the U.P. When I was younger my family told me I had visited there, but I did not remember any of it from that time. So.. with that being said I would like to tell you about the time my husband surprised me for our honeymoon and took me to all these beautiful spots in the U.P. Every single day, we were in a totally different part of the U.P and it truly was the best honeymoon I could have ever hoped for, in a state I had no idea had so many beautiful places.
The first thing we did was get in the car and take the several hour drives to our first destination Mackinaw City. This is a big tourist section, if you love fudge this is one of the best places to get it. Also if you want to try something new or if you have already had one yourself, this is a good spot to get a Pasty.
After you cross over the bridge, I believe you end up right in St. Ignace. There is a place called Castle Rock and a lighthouse that you will want to visit. If you are anything like my husband and me, we are obsessed with lighthouses, they are all so unique. We try to look at everyone everywhere we go, so we have been to quite a few in Michigan.
Finally, there are so many incredible places to go to when you are in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We have so many secret and hidden spots that are absolutely gorgeous. These next ones are quite a drive and I will just show you pictures, rather than explaining where exactly they are because I am truly very sorry but geography has never been my strong suit.
The Upper Peninsula of Michigan has so much in store, I cannot wait to take a trip up there again myself soon. If you have any questions or want to plan a trip to the U.P and you are not sure where to go, I would be more than happy to help. Sign up and email me today!
