Using the air brush do it yourself tanner

Today I looked at my legs and seen ghosts, they are pale, they are white, they are just not a very pretty sight. I wanted to take some pictures and wear a dress because today it is 62 degrees in Michigan and it feels like summer.  Perfect day for a dress, but when I put the dress on and looked at my legs, they look like I haven’t been in the sun in years.

So that is when I looked through my closet for something to help. I found one of my Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs Lotion, Medium, 4 oz  and decided to try it. Well, I just want to tell all of you guys, for a quick fix and not spending over $40 to go to a salon and get a spray tan, I absolutely love it. This lotion is not only cost effective but it has other bonuses to offer as well.

The positives

  1. The biggest thing that I like is that you do not need a whole lot, a little dab of this stuff goes a very long way.
  2.  You do not turn orange, it washes off so easily so parts of you that you don’t think blended in too well you can just wash away with a wet washcloth and try again. Remember a little bit does go a very long way.
  3. My once ghostly legs are not as white anymore.
  4. This also covered up my bruises and all the veins I have that stick out bad in my legs.
  5. Finally, this made my legs not only very tan but very shiny, and smooth looking as well.

The Negatives

  1. No, this is not the same as going to a salon and having it professionally done.
  2. There is only this one color unless you tried to mix this one and others (I would not recommend it because I have not tried it myself, but it may work out for you).
  3. It does not stay on as long as a spray tan will. This washes off very easily with just soap and water. So I think as soon as you get in the shower it will wash off.

Finally, with this being temporary it is perfect for those of us that just have not seen the sun in a while. If you want to wear those shorts, or dresses and just don’t like your legs give it a try. Also, don’t forget to comment below and tell me what you think if you do try it out from the link above!

As you can see from the picture it added a little bit of color to my pale legs, took out some of the redness, and just made my legs look a lot smoother than they really are.

I never knew when I was younger that this is where I would be in life at this very moment.  When I found out I was sick, my life took a turn for the worse for quite a while. It always felt if it wasn't one thing it was another, first, it was head injuries (about 12 concussions or more to be exact), then there were heart problems. I never thought in a million years it would have got as bad as it did, but through it all, I knew that God had it. Did I have my doubts? Of course, I did! Who in their right mind wouldn't? I just knew in my heart and still to this day know, this is exactly where the Lord wants me. With him all things are possible, and I know without him I would not be who I am today. Living the life of these illnesses has not kept me from pursuing and reaching my full potential. I was able to graduate with my Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Management, and health services administration. I worked incredibly hard at school, my strength and endurance pushed me to be the best I could be. And now here I am starting this beautiful blog of mine and pursuing another goal in life and helping others reach theirs in every way that I can possibly can! I have seen that in the store and wondered if it worked, thank you for sharing! I’ll have to order some now since it’s snowing again today so I won’t get a “real” tan anytime soon!

Sarah, I think you will really like it. I just liked how it didn’t make me orange like some of the self tanners do.

I had melanoma cut out of my back in november so I have to be careful with being in a sun and I love being tan. I want to investigate in these types of things so this is great wisdom for me!!

Did you ever put the lotion on your face?

Amber, I am so sorry to hear about you having melanoma. No, I have not tried it on my face, just my legs. But I am sure it could work anywhere on your body.
